It looks like a standard Lucas pre-engaged motor by the parts list, but is yours missing or just need repairing?

It's missing. I have a ring gear but just a tin plate over the access. It seems as though the starter might bolt to an adaptor casting? Pete.
Yes, now you mention it, there is an adapter ACL10 (not the actual part number) shown on the drawing.
It's a casting by the look of it.
