It is indeed a real shame that nutters like John "Guy Fawkes" Bunt, seem to get such a kick out of ruining things for others on usenet. Hopefully this is going to come to a stop pretty soon, as I understand he is currently under investigation by the police, and may well be back inside quite soon!. As to repair of your part, as I told you brazing would be fine, but I would certainly discount glue and MMA welding, as neither are as good a brazing for this particular job.

I won't, I'll persist a while yet, I was just fed up as I've had similar problems on another group where the simple act of offering professional advice (I'm an electrical inspector amongst other things) to try and help someone resulted in a whole load of abuse.

Rather than leave the group due to posts by John "Guy Fawkes" Bunt, why not just kill file the idiot? If you ignore trolls such as Bunt they will very soon go away, and find someone else to hassle.
