Technical help needed

Hi,

A newby needs help. I am presently replacing main bearings on a JAP Model

  1. I've got to the stage where I need to actually remove the old bearings from their housings and then refit the new bearings. The questions I have are :-

1 What is the best way to remove the old bearings?

2 What is the correct way to fit the new bearings? 3 How do I set the preload on the bearings?

I know that this is a fairly lowly engine, but I do have a couple of Lister CS lined up, and I know where there is an open crank hot bulb engine dry stored for many many years I am hoping to get. I just need some practice first :)

regards

alan
