When is the 1000-engine rally?

Is it in the usual place as well?

June 24th/25th I hope it's in the usual place, as by this time next week I'll be up there and be very upset if there's no one else to play with :-) Hopefully we'll be able to have the usual group get together/beer/photograph session?

I'll be there later on Friday evening & exhibit during Saturday. Beer tent at 1.00pm as before, gentlemen? Wear a badge, now, won't you?

Duty demands I am elsewhere on Sunday, so will be away at Close of Business Saturday, although I may stretch my parole to include the Anson visit.

I've just checked their website & there is no mention of it, so I phoned the number provided. The coach will run from Astle Park as in previous years and yes, the evening visit is on.

Sounds horribly enticing...

I am still trying to arrange my desperately complicated family life to find out when I have a "slot" that weekend, so won't propose a time - but would try to fit in to whatever anyone else comes up with?

What I like about this particular rally is the reasonably-located car park viz-a-viz the display area & the sheer number of interesting & unusual engines one sees. The club stand usually has some interesting stuff, too. So far, though, the auction hasn't enticed me at all.

Definitely worth the trip even if it's the only big rally you attend this year.

Looking forward to the 1000 engine, van was loaded ready to go this afternoon as I am away with work in Finland and Sweden all week :-( Fingers crossed I will be there Friday at some point. Having an obnoxious two-stroke weekend with the Crossley TSH semidiesel and the 'United Charcoal & Retort Co' drag saw engine.

Beer tent at 1pm both days sounds good to me...I'll be the one covered in black oily filth from my engines ;-)

Cheers

Right I will pack the umbrella now then Dan, the last thing I need is covering in black spots like at Welland last year.

Im having to take my Lister DK as its the only engine I have got running at the moment, as the Ruston PB decided it was going to die for no apparant reason on sataurday.

For those of you wanting to go to a decent rally I will also be in the Beer Tent at one on both days at the Bloxam (Banbury) Rally. See some of you there.

Hi Kim and all

Twas me you spoke to, did not recognise any hint of Saxon ;-)

Have now added the information about the coach trip etc on our web site. Love to see any of the group at the Museum on the Saturday night or at our stand ( I will be there on the Sunday - and maybe the Friday night if all goes well). For full details see

We have now got two Crossley atmospherics running plus the usual stuff. So it looks like its going to be a great night The Les and Ena Cawley Memorial building will be open for everyone to see the progress from last year, when we had not even started digging the footings.
