And found some Hornby stuff which has never been out of the boxes.
As it is unlikely I shall now try to develop a layout, I'm looking to sell some of it, how can I find out it's value?

Check the selling price of similar items on eBay. Keith
Thanks, but so far I haven't seen anything on ebay which is like what I have, but I'll keep my eyes open, if I can wake from this stupor I seem to be stuck in!(:-)

Hmm, IMO there is a big difference in what a few (idiots) might be prepared to pay and what most other are, the winning bid isn't any indication as to the items value - next week the same item might not sell for half that.
There's a book called "Ramsay's British Model Trains Catalogue" which is actually written by Pat Hammond who posts here. You can usually find a copy in your local library or you can buy it direct from the publisher:-
Thanks, made a note, now all I have to do is to find it!(:-)

Pop a list of the box numbers on here, or look under the models and look for something like R259...
Same as any other market then as a price in a guide is just that a guide so treat ebay the same. As you say its worth what people will want to pay for it.

True, same as any auction, dealer prices [1] are some what more reliable (stable) and are what most price guides are based on.
[1] either buying or selling
Hornby:-
R.856 R.102 R.020 R.015 R.016 R.101 R.394 R.210 R.022 R.100 R.613 R.612 R.223 R.013 R.211 R.780
Triang-Hornby:-
R.644 RS.62 Box top damaged R.214 R.668 R.669
All, as new.
For starters!
Should anyone want to make an offer for any, or all, of these I'd behappy to consider it!
If you live near Windsor, you could collect and save a fortune on postage!(:-)
