I've just been given a Hornby lever, and if memory serves me correctly, the (lever body) colours are:
Black - passing contact, for points Yellow - one terminal on, the other off, colour light signals Green - on or off, isolating track sections
BUT this one is RED, and I've never seen or heard of a red one before. The lever is sprung so that it always engages the notch at the bottom of the lever throw (am I describing this correctly?).
So could some kind soul please tell me what the red levers are for?
TIA, Dave
