I have had several certs in the past, mostly through AWS, and one of their inspectors. 2G, 3G, 4G, 6G, 6GTIG, 2G 36" CAISSON open 6010 root, 36 pass .072" FCAW wire on automated bug with argon shield. Underwater stuff that is unrelated.
I know how to weld, it's just been a while, and since there's a six month or year lapse clause in some certs, and I can't find my certs, it looks like I should get a couple just so I can snag some work where it requires a "certified" welder.
What is the cost today for the various certs? Can anyone suggest a particular ONE that would allow me to do most structural using 7018. A lot of my work is probably going to be nuts and bolts repairs, but I don't want to miss the gravy jobs.
I live in a small town, and could probably get it a little cheaper than someone living in the big city.
