which company owns who ? since hypertherm powermax 380 and miller spectrum 380 are the same plasma cutters in different sheet metal color. was it originally hypertherm and miller just slapped their name on it ?
are consumables the same? which consumable would be cheaper to purchase miller or hypertherm?

Miller is making some machines on contract for Hypertherm.
Hypertherm is doing some engineering for Miller.
Several of the Millers use the Hypertherm Torch.
Hypertherm is a completely independant company. The owner of Hypertherm got so sick of buyout rumours sweeping through the company every few months that he sold 55% of the company to the employees.
If it gets sold it is by their vote.
