Man hole covers?

There recently was a story in the paper about a fella who had been welding under contract at nuclear facilities and other Gov. jobs for the last 20+ years and his fingerprints had become so worn they were mostly unrecognizable, so is no longer able to weld in or at gov or nuke facilities. New homeland security measures. Just wanted to throw something in here. Been enjoying lurking in this group for a long time. Don't own a welder and can barely solder, but very much enjoy the way everyone shares, and in such a kind way. I am almost considering picking this up as a hobby myself. Randy

My grandpa taught me how to solder in my teens. I'm not certified, nor a professional weldor, but IMO it boils down to a couple of things. Heat and often electricity.
