Micro TIG

I got some ceriated .020 electrodes and collet today and tried them out. I get a really nice 3/16 wide bead, butt welding 24 guage steel sheet metal. Amps set around 10A DC. I tried some AC welding, and even at the minimum of 4 A it just blows out the electrode. Any way to use them on Aluminum? How does a .040 electrode work out?

The lowest setting on my dials is 4, but that's probably pretty innacurrate. At the lowest setting the tungsten just pops on AC. On DC it does nice work, and since i will be making a set of headers soon so thats a good thing
