Pancakes

Welding masks is a thread already.

Who's seen the old pancake masks? I knew some old pipeliners who swore by them and wouldn't wear anything but.

Both are top quality. I use them for everything, once you use one you won't go back to a bucket hood.

Interesting. Do you know if they make them to take a NexGen autodark lens?

You can buy them to fit a 2X4 auto lens, plus a cheater.

E mailed them to see if they made one, or would make one for a NexGen.

I thought pancake hoods were just simple little home made welding hoods.

I built one for myself a few years back:

I used it for about 15 years, and there was nothing like it! It was light weight, let in a helluva lot of light, and cooler than anything else I'd ever used.

I always thought it would have been nice to have found someone that sold parts for building a hood. The hardest part of my pancake hood was getting the small detail pieces like a groove for the lenses to slide in and the mounting pieces for the headgear.
