I'm new to welding and wanted to get started with 135 amp mig welder.

Do you prefer red or blue? That's about what the difference boils down to with those two machines. I prefer blue, but I'd also prefer something a little larger than either of those machines. Take another look at the 175 amp machines. You'll be pushing the duty cycle limits of the small machines. Most welders are more controllable when they aren't required to run flat out.
