Re: Ready Welder... a comment from an Ebay purchaser

The only down side to the machine is the wire speed adjustment dial.

Could you maybe put either an O-ring or a felt/leather/rubber pad under the knob to add a bit of friction and keep it from changing so easily?

I tried it, and it does help. I used a small O-ring. It adds just enough friction that the wheel doesn't move by just brushing it.

Not perfect, but better.

Can I use a Ready Welder II 10250 as a spool gun for my Lincoln SP-175 Plus? Can the the trigger on the Ready Welder control the SP-175?

Yes you can use it as a spoolgun on a MIG, but you will have to add a contactor switch, to turn the power supply on and off, and somehow disconnect the internal wire feeder.

I am not sure how Lincoln wires their machines, but it should be easy to trace the wires and add a switch that bypasses the gas solenoid and wire feed.

Easy enough to do.
