"Barycenter" was used in a Jeopardy! clue today.

Maybe it's the new word of the decade, kind of like "ambience/ambiance" or "paradigm" have been. :)

Or maybe there's a writer for Jeopardy who reads r.m.rc.air! :-O

The term may have become popular through the technique of identifying the existence of planets (very large and uninhabitable planets!) by the wobble they introduce in the motion of the sun that they orbit. Both the sun and the planet are orbiting around the center of mass of the two-body system (the barycenter) rather than the sun's own center of mass.
