Basswood

Otherwise known as Linden wood, this wood is used in very specialisted industry, IE; the making of drafting tables or boards, it is also used for the making of picture frames,It is about double the weight of balsa, but being extra dense , glue doesn.t penetrate very well , so glue joints are not strong, pine that has been dried extra well will work better as the glue will grab better. There are 2 kinds of Linden the European and the American, which is also in two categories, the Canadian and the American, this last one grows mostly in Michigan. As for good quality yellow pine try model train stores.RG
