futaba 9C having issues getting airelrons to work..

Hello, I have a 9C. I 'm having a time getting the airelrons to work. There are 2 servos, i think there is some way to get this to work within the radio but i can't figure it out... according to my manual i can use ch 1 for the right and either ch 5 or 6 for the left i know the servo is good.. So it's not that.. any one have any ideas? thanks.

You are correct -- the ailerons go into channels 1 and 5 or 6 (you can choose between 5 and 6 for the second one.)

You then need to enable `flaperons' which is what causes the radio to do the needed mixing for you. Then you can adjust them so they're going in the right directions at the right time.

Avoid the impulse to actually use the `flap' part of flaperons, at least at first. By using your ailerons as flaps, you greatly increase the odds of your plane tip stalling.

On the other hand, spoilerons, where you put both ailerons up somewhat, are OK, and it bleeds off energy nicely. Do be aware that while actually using spoilerons and flaperons you've lost considerable aileron authority, so your plane will bank more slowly.

(Of course, at this point, I doubt you care about flaperons or spoilerons and just want the ailerons to work, but the flaperons idea usually comes shortly after.)

I don't have my radio or the instructions in front of me, but this should be enough to get you going.

Alternatively you can simply use a Y lead of channel one to drive both servos.

If they are mounted symmetrically, they will move in opposite directions.
