Goldberg Extra 300

Anybody know the recommended control throws for the tail surfaces on the Goldberg Extra 300?

I've finally rebuilt mine after elevator flutter took it out 12 years ago.

Thanks, Dave

I don't recall the throw settings, but they weren't very much. HOWEVER, we all learned a long time ago that the CG Extra needed bracing between the stab/fin/fuselage. Put some 1/8" OD aluminum tubing through the stab & fin and then insert a 2-56 bolt/nut than can hold flying wire fittings.

Dave, I had one of those - it flew great - the split elevator pushrod is a weak point. I had mine in a hard dive and it just couldn't pull out. On the second model we tracked the problem. If you could, convert to pull / pull.

You know, when I built the plane I didn't like the split pushrod. But I figured the designers had to be right. Once again I proved that I should listen to myself. I'm sure that the split pushrod was the problem.

The issue is fixed. The surfaces are now solid and there are now 3 servos in the tail. The only weight increase was the additional balsa as I was able to balance by moving the battery. And now the surfaces don't flex and the controls are tight.

All I need now is for the weather to clear up and it'll fly this weekend for the first time in a dozen years.

Thanks, Dave
