Yes, it is a good plane to learn with. What makes the experience even better is finding a group to fly with, sometimes a club, sometimes not. Most people in this hobby are willing to help each other out. Learning to fly is a lot easier when you have someone coaching you.

I trained on a Nexstar, there may not be an easier trainer to land. Lost it to a radio hit, but the radio gear and the engine continue on in new planes.
