Don't forget to come to the flying field at the fairgrounds for our annual Jan. 1 fun fly. Rain, sleet, sunshine or snow if we can get there. There will be coffee and a pot of chili. Bring what you want to cook over an open fire; hot dogs, etc.

PS: Bring an airplane.

Uh, what fairgrounds? For that matter, what state? Are there special airfares?

I think he is in a college town in West Virginia judging by his email address.

This message was to be sent to our club members only but I guess I was in the newsgroup when I sent it. Sorry about that but you are welcome to come to Ripley, WV. My email address comes from WV University but I am about 3 hrs drive away.

Thanks! I won't be able to make it from Buffalo this year. I'll probably cross WV on my way to see Mom toward the end of January; I usually overnight in Summersville. It's a little past halfway to Pittsboro.

I hope you have a great day tomorrow!

Did you actually send the mail out to the club, or did it just go to the newsgroup?

It actually went to the club also. Looks like we will have a little rain for today but we will fly. We haven't missed a Jan. 1 for many years. Charlie

We had a great day. Had a few snow flurries and the temp. was in the

20's. A lot of wind. There were 24 people there and most of them got to fly. No crashes. The hot dogs and chili were great as well as the coffee. We also had a huge fire to keep us warm. We will do it next Jan.1. Thanks for asking.
