Actually, I think they are. I think all the ham band stuff has the same (positive) shift worldwide, no matter who made it.

I am inclined to disagree...I have tried a Futaba six meter tx with teh jR receivers and it doesn't work. None of the six meter receivers sold on ebay...I find that hard to beleive. Well, it is costly to list them a third time, so I will put them in a box and put themunder the bench...unless somebody wants to make me an offer... Frank

How many do you have and how much for them?

I have several friends that are flying JR rigs on six meters, so there should be no problem in selling them at a fair price.

Oh dont get me started on servo arms! I have trays and trays of em and go nuts trying to match em up. I think I have a 10-1 ratio of Hitec to Futaba, probably greater. Searching thru the mess for Futaba arms is always a project.

He might be correct. Checking the FMA website they also list 50mhz rx's as either old Futaba/Ace or all new (post 1990) Futaba/JR/Airtronics. Of course this would only apply to newer txs and rxs so it might depend on the vintage of your JR rxs. My Futaba gear is all newer, 6XAS and 9CAS and the FMA rxs work fine with them. So... I dunno.

Well, to be fair, the blurb at radicalrc.com is about FMA receivers, and so the source is almost certainly the same.

I haven't tried it myself -- all of the R/C ham gear I own is Futaba branded -- the non-Futaba ham gear (FMA, Berg) is too expensive compared to the 72 MHz stuff to justify getting it on the ham band.

(Though I'd really like to buy a `Shadow 1' receiver by Sombra Labs if somebody has one to sell ... it's out of production, so used is what I'll need to do ...)

The Berg rxs arent diferentiated between 72 and 50 pricewise. I have 2 Bergs on 50, one an older Berg 6 (just took some kind of dump, hoping its just a break in the ant) and the latest version. FMA on the other hand, are nuts to charge $20 plus more for 50mhz. They didnt a while ago. Needless to say, I havent bought one in quite a while.

The Sombra Shadow is due out on six meters this month, I am told. I bought two of the 72 mhz units at Toledo and am quite pleased with them.

The original Sombra Shadow 1 did 50 MHz, 72 MHz and 75 MHz all in the same unit. You could pick any of the three bands at will.

Sounds too good to be true, but I haven't heard of any problems with it.

I've asked them, and they say they'll make more of the Shadow 1s eventually, but it hasn't happened yet.

Right, but the cheap ones aren't available on 50 MHz. The expensive ones are.
