Hi there....any tips as to putting monocote over it's matching 'top flite' spray. The heat from my hot iron lifts the paint off the plane while I'm trying to cover ....any suggestions?...Thanks...Jim

They say you cover first, then paint.
Mask off the covered plane, leaving a bit of the covering exposed. "Scuff" the exposed covering with a scotchbrite pad. Wipe with denatured alcohol and allow to dry. Prime and paint the wood and exposed covering.
My brother did it this way on the nose of a House of Balsa PT-19 and it turned out really good.

I have a plane that has monokote over paint. I put it on with no heat trim solvent then sprayed it with clear. I scuffed it a little before I painted it with 0000 steel wool. Make one pass with the trim solvent and then smooth the monokote down. It will stick just fine. Worked for me and is holding well. Need any more help contact me back channel. Eddie Fulme AMA 63713
