Since I have not yet built my first engine, what I need, at this point, more than anything, is good documentation. Therefore, for my first engine, I will probably build the MLA Diesel .20, since the plans for this engine come with a twenty-seven page instruction booklet:

According to Roger Schroeder, the plans and instructions for this engine will provide me with a complete course in model engine building.
