Write or call the Knifeedge or GreatPlanes Realflight website. They are very good at helping figure out different problems. It's worth the effort to get it going. I just made my planes fly with Florida Gators Orange and Blue exhaust and smoke! Andy

I'm using G2 on XP Pro. I let it install the Direct X drivers when I first loaded it. this caused symptoms similar to the one you are describing. XP uses the latest Direct X drivers don't use the ones that come with the flight sim.

You need to download the latest version. Instead of trying to run the program, open the realflight control panel (ie, Start... All Programs... RealFlight... RealFlight Control Panel).

Then press the "Online Updates" button. Then the Update to Latest Version button.

Once you've got the updates, everything should run fine. At least it did for me :-)

Note: You need to register the software before you can upgrade it. This is done by pressing the button above that for the online updates.

Like SuperScooper says, make sure you have the latest version...it won't work right without the updates from the website... I had a problem until I loaded it and now it's perfect and I'm running it on a laptop on XP Home.

Kelven,

I had this same problem after I updated the nvidia video drivers to the latest version. I reverted back to the older drivers and RealFlight worked fine.

I am currently using nvidia driver version 6.14.01.4351 with DirectX 9 installed with no problems.

Of course if you do not use a nvidia card this will not apply to you.

Hi Kevin,

Go to the Real flight web site and install the install patch used with Win 2000. You should be able to get it to load.
