Your club members. If your club is of any size, you should have lots of people who have upgraded from 4 channel to more channel or computer radios, and the old transmitters should work fine. Or, pre-1991 wide band equipment makes nice buddy boxes too. (Remove the crystals and battery just to be sure nobody tries to transmit with them.)

If that doesn't work, hit a swap meet -- you'll find this sort of thing there, dirt cheap.

If you're in a hurry, Ebay can be good. Swap meets will get you far better prices, but there may not be one coming up.

And places like Tower Hobbies will sell you a buddy box (basically a standard transmitter minus crystal, battery and charger) for like $50. Ebay is probably a better plan, however.

Call the local pawn shops and check Ebay. That's the most likely places for your thief to unload his booty. Your dollar loss isn't very high, but it would be incredibly satisfying to nail the guy.
