Super Stick 40 or Ultra Stick 40

| I'm looking into getting a new stick. I had a Super Stick that I loved, I | was wondering if the ultra stick was any better. I really enjoyed the speed | and really fast roll rate of the super stick. Is the speed and roll rate as | good on the ultra stick?

Ultra Stick 40, definately.

The two are fairly similar, but the US40 has a few advantages.

The covering is Ultracote rather than shelf paper. So the plane will last longer.

I strongly suggest the four wing servo setup, even if your radio doesn't support it yet. You get even larger control surfaces, and can set up flaps and crow if your radio does support it.

The US40 looks better too. :)

The disavantages of the US40? Just one -- it costs $10 more.

I don't know anything about the SS but the US40 has the worlds worst tailwheel arrangement - it's a great plane but you'll probably want to change that.

Get the ultra stik 40 got SC70 Four Stroke perfect.

I have owned both the US40 and US60 and heard this remark about the tail wheel several times. I have yet to know what is wrong with the tail wheel set up. I had no problems with either. I finally sold both after about a year's flying on each and now someone else is still flying them and I still haven't seen any tail wheel problems. DDeadly

My US40 has lasted several years without any problems in the tail wheel area. It does seem a little strange -- all the weight on the tail wheel is supported by the rudder's CA hinges, which doesn't sound very strong, but mine has never had a problem.

I've ripped the landing gear off several times, broken the motor mount once (another known weak point) and even cut my wing in two in a limbo contest ... but the tail wheel has never given me any trouble.

Alas, my most recent landing was downwind at the far end of the field, and I must have hit a hole or something, as it didn't _look_ like a really bad landing, but it ripped the landing gear off and broke the motor mount (the stock one, and it lasted about four years I guess) and one of these two items decided to tear the fuse and stab up on the way back. It's certainly fixable, but I haven't gotten around to it.

But even now, the tail wheel assembly is just fine.
