Magnetic flowmeter - Salinity relationship

Nov 13, 2003 2 Replies

Dear sirs,

I am using an 8 " Magflowmeter in a saline water application.Would the variation in salinity ( over a wide range ) affect the accuracy of the meter.Would be obliged to receive an advise per return.

Regards, Ramesh s

Liquid needs to have a minimum conductivity for the flow meter to have full accuracy. Extra conductivity does not much further effect on the accuracy. You need be concerned only if your range of salinity includes very low salt concentrations (parts per million, perhaps).
