I am using the new factorysuite gateway product from wonderware to talk to RSLinx via an OPC connection. Both are loaded on the same PC. Wonderware advertises that Factorysuite Gateway can be used with RSLinx OEM, Pro, or Gateway, and Rockwell tech support tells me that there should not be a problem.
RSLinx however refuses the connection reporting that an attempt for an OPC connection from a remote PC has been made and that only RSLinx Gateway supports this function. When I change my RSLinx activation to a gateway license, the configuration works as intended. I have a full developer's license, but my end customer only has professional. Has anybody else seen this problem? Do i need to upgrade the Linx license? Does anybody know how to determine what type of message fsgateway is sending linx?
RSLinx OPC test client works fine with RSLinx professional.
Wonderware tech support tells me that this has been done before and that they have never heard of this, and that it must be a corrupted rslinx installation. I have nine of these setups sitting side by side and none of them work.
