Bulging Video card capacitors

Hi

I noticed when putting a new van on my video card that a couple of the capacitors are bulged and even have a yellow discharge.

I don't think I'm going to like the answer to this post.

Thankyou

Putting a *van* on your video card will likely cause damage - especially the

3/4 ton Chevy.

You were correct. You would not like the answer to your post. : )

They could have a yeast infection, so don't lick them.

Or....

Too hot. (Thats why you needed the van) Overvoltage (not likely since everything else works) Cheap-assed caps. (Likely...get some new ones)

Let me guess: an AGP card that you have been running at the wrong voltage? Naughty over-clocker, you.

If it still works, aren't you a lucky boy? The odds are that they are on the power supply lines and all you have lost is a slightly increased risk of instability.

Of course, you could swop them - but you will probably screw up the card in the process, unless you do this sort of work often - in which case, you wouldn't have needed to ask the question.

Why doesn't the word, "Palindrome" read the same backwards as it does forwards?

Thanks to brian sturgeons and meer martols alike.

The video card has been temporarily replaced by an old card.

The 'bulging capacitor' card is going to my repair man today. Let's hope that Serge doesn't live up to his name.

Ta muchly
