What is the real function of PSS? Where can i found documentation?

Can you explain what PSS is? (write out the words, please)

Power System Stabiliser. It is used with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) on every Synchronous Generator. "Nam Paik" a écrit dans le message de news: snipped-for-privacy@posting.google.com...

Power System Stabilizer is a rather unusual (unheard of) device - and I have been in this industry for 15+ years.

Normally, there are voltage stabilzers (same as voltage regulators) which keeps the output voltage relatively constant (within a few percentage of 115 or 230VAC, for example). Some voltage regulators may also include isolation transformer and/or waveform correcting feature so that spikes/surges/ distortions are removed. If pure sinewave is needed, voltage regulators with waveform regenerating features (ferroresonant transformers, AC to DC to AC converters) are needed, but these get large & expensive.

Does any of the above describe what you are referring to as "Power System Stabilizer"?
