Short circuit test

Oct 29, 2003 5 Replies

Hello,

Please could somebody explain how to test for a short circuit using a digital multi metre, in plain english.

Many thanks in advance

Dave.

What is it that you are trying to test??

If you are only checking wiring, just set your meter to ohms. Usually the harness will be too large for the leads to reach, so do a loop back test. In other words, short two wires at a time and "ring them out" with the ohmmeter. Make sure to set on low ohms....good luck, Ross

That was an easy one....but glad it helped....good luck on your repair!
