UK generator plug

Someone in the UK is ebaying a generator with a 110v output rather than the UK standard of 240V.

The generator has a standard domestic plug socket as used for 230v supplies (ie normal house-wiring plugs).

Does anyone know if this is legal? I'm thinking that someone might fix a plug onto a 110v a piece of equipment for the generator, then forget and later try accidentally plugging it into the 240v mains.

Usually they are dual voltage, 110/230. There should be a voltage change switch that makes the 230v socket dead when switched to 110
