KW 400 T mistake

I meant after market knock offs. Where can I purchase KW 400T and KW dead bolt plugs KA in multi sets?

I've never heard of Kwikset plugs being sold as separate item. KA, or KD. I don't even know if they sell cylinders seprately, would have to go look in my Kwikset catalog. Makes more sense to buy the entire lock.

How about call your wholesale distributor? You'd probably have to buy the plugs as a separate item, and then buy tumblers. I doubt anyone will sell plugs already keyed. It would be a shipping nightmare, trying to keep the pins from falling out.

they DO make a Schlage plug that will go in.. separate..

last tile I looked, the Tylo KIK lock was $11.. the key lock part that snaps into it was $6 at my supplier.. not a lot of savings.

the KW 400T is cheap enough in price. as far as the KW dead bolt plugs, that's going to be hard to find without buying the whole lock. there may be a chance for a supplier to order then direct from the manufacture ? not really sure, never tried to get the plugs separately.

g'luck

I've used the Schlage plug on Titan deadbolts. Or was that a Schlage cylinder, I can't remember Schlage and Titan are noticably different spacing.

I did look in the catalog, they do sell replacement cylinders. But I didn't see plugs.

William,

Welcome to alt.locksmithing.

I would like to for get about the solution to the problem you have come up with and came here to get an answer to, and instead take one step back and define your circumstance and the problem you wish to solve.

We could guess, but we might be wrong. As a bunch of really creative problem solvers that genuinely like to help folks solve their problems we always seem to do this best if we have enough information.

So for instance if this were the case one might get the best solution if he were to say" I am a landlord with X units and I have a brisk turnover of tenants and I am getting tired of swapping locks all the time so I am seeking a solution to this problem.

The optimal solution would take into consideration my desire to minimize the bucks I have to spend as money always seems to be tight."

If you ask your question this way I think you might get what you are after.

Are you trying to infer that the only time folks ever are welcome here is the first time they show up?

William S. Gillman has been posting here for a number of years, and usually manages to ask some pretty perplexing, occasionally illogical, and generally 'head scratching' locksmithing questions. This question is but another. Is he a qualified locksmith ?, is he a Journeyman,? or is he just a dabbler in the craft ?. Who is this man behind the mask?. Come on William, tell us your story. :-)
