Bright brass finish by the way. Just wondering if someone knows it right off. Thanks, goma.

Froogle is your friend. Retail $137. I put in a couple for a guy awhile back. And then he wanted a couple more. IIRC, they were about $125 for the lock, and then some labor to put em in. A couple years ago.

When installing, t here is a template. Please note that on some models (I think this one) the hole locations are different if LH or RH door. Because the slot in the bolt is not centered, the lock can be up or down a bit.

2 1/8 cross bore works fine.

This is a new install. I believe the bore is 1-5/8. This is a solid wood door that is 2" thick-with a 4 inch stile. I could not find 7100 with 2" BS. I could fit a LORI 2"bolt-but warranty would be voided. Know about the arrow-think thats why the instructions read: place template on the outside. Should'nt be much trouble. Thanks Stormin'

The couple I've done, they work very nicely with a 2 1/8 cross bore, so you can use the Kwikset drill jig. The narrow wood frame might be a probelm.

1 5/8 is what Schlage uses for, hang on. I'm thinking Dexter. Well, Dexter used to use 1 5/8. Schlage was 1 1/2. For the deadbolts. The knobs (Schlage and Dexter) use 2 1/8 cross bore.

The 1-5/8 is what I went with. Most of the time I go with smallest bore I can-unless it already exists.. (Lori's-I use 1-7/8) It will fit over an existing 2-1/8. Less material removed from the door stile. This was an 8 foot door-solid wood-beautiful. Got it done.It looked great. Customer happy. Changed combo and all. Had to go easy with spade bit on the 1 inch bolt bore. But touch and go and I got it.

Later, goma.

You are a true craftsman. It's good to know some workmen (worth their hire) are out there.
