Reminder, Key: Spambots often kill spam postings, which makes them vanish entirely -- unless someone makes the mistake of posting a reply to them.
So Please Don't. Let it die.
Anyone who is going to make the effort to complain can track the perpetrator back as easily as you did. Anyone who isn't going to make that effort is just further annoyed by your posting.
Standard essay:
"Joe Kesselman" snipped-for-privacy@comcast.net wrote in message news: snipped-for-privacy@comcast.com...
well, I can't tell ya how may times I have been told thank you for reporting information. also for the people that aren't going to make that effort can just get annoyed all that wish. if they don't like it ? they can just utilize their kill-file.

OK. Not worth a long argument disrupting the newsgroup. Plonk.
whatever Joe. this is NOT your personal group. it an OPEN forum. I get tired of you flaming me anyhow..
please keep me in your kill-file this time.
Key:
You would get much more attention from an abuse complaint than any spammer, because the actual content of your messages are abusive, rather than the message itself being a mere nuisance simply because it exists...
Take some of your own advice:
If you get tired of flames, then why do you pour gas on yourself and give out matches... You attract this problem by responding to it...
~ Evan
thats your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it Evan. but I disagree.
I will agree with "pour gas". however, this is not the first time Joe and I have disagreed.. its been going on years before you ever come to this group. again, I am glad Joe <plonk> me. I hope I stay in his kill-file.
no pun is intended Evan
oh my...touchy
Agree to disagree, and recognize the noise beyond the chatter (hey its only spam guys!). In this case the background noise exceeds the initial ripple.
Result ... let such spam burn in the frying pan of obliviousness and eat the fresh catfish together, instead of bickering over gristle!
Cheers guys!
David

Apologies for stirring the pot. My tolerance for meta-chatter has dropped through the floor recently, and of course I fell into the trap of adding to it by commenting on it...
I fact I have killfiled Key -- for now -- as a service to the group. If I don't see his posted responses to stuff he considers offtopic, I won't be tempted to reply to 'em, and I think everyone will be happier.
Key's got some good things to say. If I had a smarter killfile system I'd try to set it up to block only his responses to spam and commercial(?) postings, which are the ones we have trouble over. But the tool I'm using isn't that sophisticated. Oh well.
thunderbird should be able to do that..dig into the filtering section..
--Shiva--
its ok Shiva. it's quiet comfortable in his kill-file. if he doesn't like what I have to say ? I hope he leaves me there. however, I didn't kill-file him. I too like most of his input.
I got 'several' in my kill file..even a couple from on here.. it happens, its useful, no big thing..
--Shiva--
my point exactly, "no big thing.."
nuff said
hell, I will just try and cut down on most of the spam responses. (some of the spam just needs to be stopped) the only reason I post them is to get others to help stop the spam. (if its never reported ? its never stopped) as you know, it takes many spam reports for any action to happen on the complaint.
if I can do this ? Joe can try to ignore them or not. its really his choice. I really enjoy his input to the group also.
g'day
LOL some things never change. Nice to see the regulars are still here even if they are arguing about the same old things.
If Key would agree to always put "abuse" in the subject line of his spam responses then you could killfile anything with "abuse" in the subject and so could everybody else who doesn't want to read it. He seems to pretty much do it that way anyway.
