I have a safe box, with no keys. it has a Schlage cylinder and a 5 min time delay, I dont know how long it has been sitting diconected from it's power supply, but I can see through the deposit slot, that it has battery backup. My question is, if I pick or drill the cylinder will it open with dead batteries or do I have to find a way to get voltage to it? I think I could use some long leads to reach the battery terminals, it has 2 d batteries in it. I would guess it needs a 3 volt dc power supply. does anyone know anything else about this I should know about this before attemting to open. Also wondering if this is a standard rim cylinder or something special.
TIA
