hello. i'm a 3rd year materials engineering student at cal poly san luis obispo. i've got some cobalt discs mounted in 1-1/4" epoxy and a leco ss 2000 autopolisher. i also have leco cameo platinum 1, 2, and x discs as well as a leco silver cameo disc. i'm trying to grind the discs down until i hit a target on the face of the disc. i've got all the documentation that came with the autopolisher, as well as a book of recommended grinding/polishing procedures, but neither book has anything to say about working with cobalt. does anyone have any suggestions?
