St. Venant's principle!!

Can anyone give me an intuitive example explaining St. Venant's principle!!!

I would suggest a rubber model.

A strip, say, 10 cm long, 5 cm wide, and a couple of millimetres thick.

Draw lines along and across the axis, forming squares.

Clamp an end in a vice (or vise) and pull with fingers from the other end.

See what happens in the vicinity of your fingers and of the vice and compare with what happens in the centre of the strip.
