I finally got around to mounting some scales on my Sieg X3 this week. I have the X axis done, and the Y axis is on, but I need to mill the mounting slot a bit wider on one end. It's amazing what .064 aluminum can do for the slide mounting brackets...
Having a metal brake would have made the job simpler. Making the brackets for the sliders has taken up about 3/4 of the time. Oh, Ace Hardware does not have bottoming taps.
I fired up the DRO display and it's nice to see the X and Y axis do their thing. The Z axis will take a bit, considering a screw clamp around the quill with a 1/2" bar extending out.
