Yes Lloyd, but because of the DC offset, the battery does NOT see AC. It just sees noisy DC.
You are complicating things, Lloyd. A transformer ttansforms ANY CHANGEING voltage - but only the change. Again, the battery is "biased" to the DC - so does NOT see AC.(current reversals)
I would have loved to have been there!
Chris
It is impossible to couple the entire signal through a capacitor or a transformer. You can extract the variations of the signal AND the zero point (refrence) of such coupled signal will be the average of the variations. With regard to the transformer it also must have sufficient magnetic material to not saturate with the DC component of the "single ended" stage or you dont get the variation on the secondary. It isn't AC unless it reverses polarity. ...lew...
That reminds me of the 7 level (AFSC) class I was in at Keesler in
1952. One other student and I were always giving the poor instructor a hard time. We probably could have taught the class but it was great sport tying him up in details. I ran into the class picture the other day in my junk. Wish I had kept in touch with several of the other students. ...lew...PolyTech Forum website is not affiliated with any of the manufacturers or service providers discussed here.
