Checks !

Spent this afternoon finishing up a gas check maker , from plans I got on the 'net . I wasn't quite as accurate as I could have been , but it turned out well and the checks are a nice snug fit on the shank of the slugs I cast the other day . Next project is going to be a sizing die for those same slugs , they're a coupla thou oversize as-cast .

It's the one with the slot and the forming pin in the part that sits on the ram . I still need to pick up a 10-32 flat head screw to hold the forming pin in place , but it works just swell . I'm using some .010 aluminum flashing from an 8" wide roll . Probably got enough for 100,000 on that roll ... and there's a roll out there that's 24" wide I got for covering bee hive outer covers . I doubt I'll ever need any of that one .

It's a pretty easy project , my mistake was to rely on a drill bit for anaccurate hole . Ooooppps .-- Snag

I haven't looked at your plans, but drill bits (depending on the quality) make holes closer to the diameter of their flutes when used as a hand reamer. For the more common sizes I have a set of on size and over and under chucking reamers. In the drill press I have to feed very very fast to not over size the holes even with them. The cost of a cheaper drill press. LOL. Either of the cheap mill drills do better, but neither has much room with a reamer hanging down.

I thought his name was "M*i*g*h*t*y" although I can't figure out the correct pronunciation.

Perhaps it is similar to the lady that named her daughter "Le-a". Apparently there is/was a student in Kansas City, Mo. who's legal name is Le-a" and her mother is irate because everyone is getting her name wrong.

It's pronounced "Ledasha".

When the Mother was asked about the pronunciation of the name, she said, "the dash don't be silent."

So perhaps,"the asterisk don't be silent".
