Convert Grizzly H5685 to CNC?

Mar 29, 2006 1 Replies

All,

I've obtained a Grizzly H5685 4-inch rotary table as part of a purchase. The previous owner had obtained a Nema 23 motor for this, but no hookup hardware was provided for connecting these two parts together. Has anyone else had any luck doing this?

Thanks,

Mostly, you get a pair of toothed sprockets and a timing belt from McMaster-Carr, Stock Drive Products, or similar outfit. They have calculators so you can figure out the belt length required from the approximate center-to-center distance and the pulley sizes. You probably need to bore out the pulleys on a lathe to fit the shafts. The rotary table pulley may need a key slot put in it. You can put the pulley where the degree dial goes, or in place of the hand crank.
