hmmm...Your experience pretty much matches mine....I did NOT pay bottom dollar for this thing. I am a bit possed iff.
I also found that tightening nuts and bolts left me with a finishing job to do with the torque wrench or cheater bar.
Did you ever compare it to another brand with the same claimed ft-lb?
I would not toss it, because it's still a nice fast way to get nuts undone if it can handle them. But I may have to look again. I certainly have a use for one.

No. At the time, it was all I could afford and I warnt too anxious to repeat the experience.
Now I use a breaker bar to crack them loose and a little battery drill equipped with a socket to spin them off. I install by hand threading the first three turns and then spin them on with the little battery drill. Snug them up with the torque wrench and I am on to the next wheel. It is fast and fairly convenient.

hmmm...yes. Most 18V battery drills are pretty powerful these days, to overcome any tough bits...and no airlines etc.

I think Chicago Pneumatic (**CP** brand ) are excellent. But you have to be careful now-a-days about "brands". I see that there are many air tools sold that have the brand Chicago Power (sound like--sort of) or something similar, and they are POOR clones of the original CP stuff. Just trading on the "a little knowledge" trait of some buyers!!

About a month ago my wife was surfing her horse sites and found a beautiful little foxtrotter filly that would grow to about 14.2 hands. Perfect she thought to pull her cart. "Why dont you just train one of our horses to the cart?" I ask.
"Ours are too big, we need a small horse to fit it, besides the wheels are too close together to be stable with a large horse."
So I did some surfing of my own, thinking I would just make our shafts fit our gelding and extend the wheels out some. While searching for standard measurements, I ran across this possible myth (on some other site though) :
You would have been welcome to it, Brian. I expect it could have been used for other stuff but I only had one reason to own the thing. And it couldn't do that. :)

You are probably right, Brian. It wasn't priced like a quality tool, so it probably was a 'knockoff'.
