Drain Tube for Self bailer

I need to install a drain tube in a small boat. Currently, I have a hole in the transom but without the drain insert. The drain tube comes flanged on one end and you have to form the other one in place:

Unfortunately, the tool is $40 and local marine supplies don't have it available for use. Looks like a lathe project but I was wondering if there is a simpler alternative.

How about using a bearing race installer? One for a tapered roller bearing might work.

Another option would be to use epoxy to seal and hold the drain in place then trim it to fit inside the hull.

Thanks. I may install it with 4200 and flange it later. I definitely don't want the inside of the transom exposed to water.

5200 is the good stuff. 4200 is fast setting. JMHO.

Or 5200 if you positively know you'll never have to take it apart again. 4200 if you're not sure.

Roger Long (naval Architect) said he thought you should have to have a note from your Mom before they could sell you any 5200.

:) It's great stuff, but it gets overused a bit too much.

Good stuff for this application tho.
