My machinist friend has a job drilling boucou 5/32 holes in 1/8 304
stainless, w/ carbide drills, and he says he wouldn't even take the job if
it weren't for Crisco vegetable shortening. It's solid-ish at room temp,
but of course quickly melts.
He *swears* that there is not only a diff between the crisco and black
cutting oil, but that the diff. is profound. He has boucou experience in
the trade, as well.
Inyone else do this, hear of this? Would lard work, as well?
Any other more "dignified" cutting solutions, ito soluble oils, etc?
