Per great advice received here (thanks!), I took the bolster plates for possible use as counterweights.
And here's the fate of the press, being removed and partially disassembled already.

It's sad, but it will probably be reincarnated as a container load of Chinese arbor presses at Harbor Freight...

Yes, and to make you feel better, the press had a broken crankshaft.
