Hi folks, A friend is thinking of boring the spindle hole diameter on an old Hendey 18 inch lathe from 1 3/8 inches to 1.5 inches...about 1/16 less wall thickness all around. I am concerned that he might hit some keyways or something. Anyone know anything about the spindles in this old beast? (The thought of hacking such an honest piece of machinery like the Hendey pains me!).
