Home depot demands our stuff - first order

That's probably the better solution. Reminds me of when the govt approached Boston Whaler to buy a bunch of boats for Vietnam; the factory told them to go down the road and buy them from the local dealer. And they did, bought the boats as-is with no design modifications ;)

Nope, if you sell one item at a loss of ten cents per item you loose money, sell a million at a loss of half a cent per item and you still loose money. Pretty fundamental economics that one. The volume won't make a jack s*it of difference to reducing the loss.

Look up "monopsony"

There's always some asshole, invariably w/ a well-modulated voice of reason, defending the rights of Goliath. Their self-righteous chest-thumping but thinly veils their real cowardice.

You could look up the terms Irony and Sarcasm in your dictionary :-)

and

Which is different than the above.

Which means we would only have fewer and more expensive houses, and s*it crap apartments.

ON a semi related note, I think all of our Reps and Senators ought to have free space in the Government Housing Projects in DC and the surrounding region, and lower pay. Ditto for the states. jk

Might look up the words "loose" and "lose" too.

Ive a much simpler..and time tested suggestion.

Bring back dueling. Legalize it. No "champions" allowed. If a government official is challenged by a citizen...he has two options. Reverse whatever he/she is being challenged over..or step out into the dueling area and defend his/her stance with his/her life.

From the dog catcher, though the bastards at the DMV, to the IRS, right up to 1600 Penn Ave.

And add a rider to the law, allowing challenges to journalists and media staff.

Good 'un. Add another rider for attorneys and one for people who bring up frivolous lawsuits.

I just ordered a used copy of Cooper's _The Art of The Rifle_.

And, on topic (just to be frivolous myself) I found that there's a new Home Despot going in down in Phoenix, OR, about 30 miles away. The closest one is over 100 miles, and Blowes is in Medford, about 25 miles away.

Is the secretary of state for defense (or equivalent) allowed to choose tactical nucular (sp) weapons when challenged?

Perhaps only within D.C. city limits?

To the Shrub, that word is spelled "newkyaler", while to anyone schooled beyond the third grade, it's "nuclear". How politicians and news reporters can miss that blatant difference is beyond me, but for the Commander in Chief who -controls- them, it's downright shameful.

Half of fuknCongress sez nukyooler, or nukuhler, bro. And athalete is indeed a 3 syllable werd... yo.

But how bout, in Bushy's never-ending litany of malaprops, in a brief recite of rooski history, he says "Stalin and Leonard".... swear to god... nobody caught it. Mebbe Leonard was a pet name we all don't know about? WTF--by now, these malaprops should be on Vol. III.

Stallin' and Leonard was a Surrealist comedy team from Vladivostok, ca.

1932-1933 or so, celebrated in several Man Ray photographs of his girlfriend's butt.

Bush actually is a very subtle intellectual, and what we think are malapropisms actually are arcane literary and artistic allusions.

I've actually heard this before. You are kidding, tho, right? You meant "illusions", right? Surreal does describe this Administration, no? But not comedy. Surreal certainly describes that sensation in my ass, dats f'sure.

Yes.

"Delusions" was my allusion.

It's "Un Chien Andalou," all over again.

It's funny to people from the planet Uranus.

That's those corn cobs. Try the Sears catalog.

Sure..the Nuclear Handgrenade. A kill radius of 200 meters, capable of being thrown 60 meters.

Talk about MAD Doctrine.

Even if a goverment worker is hell on wheels in a duel..there are a hell of a lot more citizens than hell on wheels government workers..the Golden BB will sooner or later enter into the equation.

ah...Larry..are you not aware of the differences in how the Left and the Right pronounce it?

Its been a well commented factoid since the early 60s

One major problem will be the crash when the people realize the Bush administration ended and nothing changed. Simply replacing one set of no-loads, dick weeds, scum bags and con-men with another has never and will never solve/change anything.

As long as Congress lacks the cajones to do their duty as spelled out in the Constitution, things will continue just as they are, i.e. over the cliff.

For a career bureaucrat to speak out like this indicates that things are more critical and the crisis is closer than I thought. ................. GAO chief warns economic disaster looms

AUSTIN, Texas - David M. Walker sure talks like he's running for office. "This is about the future of our country, our kids and grandkids," the comptroller general of the United States warns a packed hall at Austin's historic Driskill Hotel. "We the people have to rise up to make sure things get changed."

Remember, this is just the head beancounter's financial take. Immigration, deindustrilization, and health care are waiting for their turn at bat.
