Homier coming to a town near me!!!

Looking to purchase a minimill from homier next week when they come to town (Midland MI) and wonder what kind of deals a person can expect when attending these shows. My main thought is that I will be able to save the shipping charges at least, but can I hope to expect more?

Thanks

You can expect a bit less in doing the work it takes to tune it up and clean the parts while going through every part in that assembly, and checking for accuracy. Good price maybe, but that's what to expect.

Harbor Freight will usually save you the shipping charges on orders over $50.

If budget permits, consider the minilathe as well.

They have a few other good deals. Spring loaded retractable air hose. Car creeper. Sand blaster. Small welded mobile base. That's about all. Most of their stuff is junk in my opinion.

Get there early the first day. Sometimes they don't have any with them and if the building they're selling in is small they may not have much of anything at all. If you don't see what you want ask them about it. It may be on the truck but they didn't have room to set it out.

Check it out as soon as you get it home and take it back while they're still in town if there's a problem with it.

If you use a lot of alkaline AA and AAA batteries they sell 12-packs of them for $0.72 each and that's each pack, not each battery. :-)

And no matter how attractive the deal seems, DON'T buy their 5" swivel vice. It's about the poorest quality casting I've ever seen and it would probably cost you more to ship it back for warranty replacement than the $19.99 they sell it for.

"I'm not grown up enough to be so old!"

The last Homier show I went to was in Oct. and they had very little of their larger equipment there. No mills, no mini lathes nor any items like that. I asked why and they told me that they have dropped down to one truck shows instead of two and only were bringing smaller, fast moving items. Dick

They have a few (very few) items that are worth purchasing, but most of the junk they peddle is *way* below Harbor Freight quality.
