How do you adjust for zero on a Fowler Premium dial caliper

Sep 22, 2015 2 Replies

I have a fowler premium dial caliper that when closed up, it reads .025" need to adjust pointer to the 12 oclock position when it is closed.

Find a brass tool and FF around with it for longer than you'd think.

Sounds like it got crud in the rack and skipped a tooth. Many come with a small brass shim that you put in the rack and move the head to deliberately skip a tooth and return to zero.
