I need a job done

I need a type of bearing made. This is going to look like a lollypop. The round part of the lollypop will have a bearing or a 360 swiveling device in it. The stick of the lollypop will go over to mount to the building and be a stiffener. The whole device will not support any weight, but will be a horizontal stiffener and standoff for a davit.

What this is for is to slide up over the outside of a piece of 2x2x.250 tube so that the tube can rotate freely along its center axis.

Don't know if this should be built with an old large bearing, or just a simple slider device, or what. Will send you some drawings, and leave that up to you.

E mail me at snipped-for-privacy@cox.net if you are interested.

Agricultural disk harrows use square bore bearings, got any agricultural equipment dealers nearby?

Tom

Hmmmmm. Square bore bearings. Now, I might be able to run with this. Thanks.

Steve

This davit needs to swing, but not spin, right? If so, I would just slip a piece of 1 1/2 OD pipe inside the 2x2x.25 tube and let it pivot around that. Cheap, easy, maintenance free. Bob
